Drenagh has not only been an inspiration for authors. It has also proved to be the ideal location for several productions including ‘The Hanging Gale’ and ‘Rhodes Around Britain’.

Steeped in history, the 1,000 acre Drenagh Estate is able to offer a stunning blend of Georgian architecture with beautiful and natural surroundings; magical woodlands, rivers, derelict buildings, fields, wildlife and rare botanical plants collected in China, Nepal and Bhutan at the end of the 19th Century.

Photographic opportunities are abundant for advertising and editorial work. Lady Margaret’s ‘Moon Garden’ is a beautiful white garden in an oriental style setting illustrating shape, form and scent. The Italian Garden is dominated by a sandstone balustrade and the English Garden is planted in the manner of Gertrude Jekyll. A 19th century conifer arboretum, a fabulous 4 acre walled kitchen garden and a cricket pitch in front of the North façade are all part of this important Irish country house.

The Main Hall of the house has a magnificent Imperial Staircase and large windows open onto unsurpassed views of the Donegal Hills and Sperrin Mountains.

Accommodation for cast and crew is available.Drenagh is situated a short distance from the historic city of Derry, near the old market town of Limavady. You may require exclusive access to the house and the estate for the duration of a shoot. For this, there will be an additional facility fee.
