The Estate has been occupied by one family continuously since the late seventeenth century. During that time there have been two principal dwelling houses, the first was known as Fruithill and the present one, Drenagh. Very little remains of Fruithill but Drenagh is still the main residence of the McCausland family.
The Farm Drenagh is a large organic farm with both lowland and upland holdings. The farm is run as a joint venture between J A Humphrey Farms, Castleroe and Drenagh Farms Limited.
Woodlands
The majority of the Drenagh woodlands date back to the Plantation of Ulster when Oak, Beech, Yew, Cherry and Sweet Chestnut were planted. There are individual specimen trees which pre-date these and a fine stand of Oak planted around 1900 registered as a seed source.
Drenagh Properties
Drenagh Farms Properties Limited is the property management subsidiary of Drenagh Farms Ltd. It has an impressive portfolio of properties all situated in outstanding locations on the estate.
